Strange breakfast… we had been provided with a tray of cereal, bread (for making toast), and cups etc. (plus fruit juice in the ‘fridge) the night before.

29th August 2007 – Day 1 heading for Great Ocean Road, reaching Robe

Driving from Adelaide to Melboune along the Great Ocean Road (well, actually only day three is the Great Ocean Road). Left Adelaide around 1430, having picked the car up at Hertz, and arrived in Robe (in the dark) at 1830.

The train arrived in Adelaide 10 minutes early at 1300… not bad for a 2,979 km (1,851 miles) journey.

I had a quick shave, followed by a shower (you haven’t showered until you have tried to shower on a moving train), and headed off for my 8:30 breakfast sitting.
