Day 3 on the Ghan – Start of day 3

24th August 2007 – Day 3 on the Ghan – Daybreak

Awoken again this morning, around 6 am, with a cup of tea (I could get used to this…) just as the sun was coming up.

Overnight the scenery had changed. When the sunset it was still bush-land full of small trees and low shrubs, and no real sign of human life other than a few fences. This morning there is a town in the distance and I can actually get a signal on the mobile phone…. The land still looks dry, and the grass short and ‘clumpy’, no or very few trees.
